Social Media Coasters Crochet Pattern

Social Media Coasters

Here’s the crochet pattern for the cute little coasters that go with each of the social media potholders. Crochet a gift set for your IT director, social media marketing manager, or iPhone-crazed teenager. Paired with the matching hot pads, it’s a geeky win of a gift. Giggle, snort.

I apologize for the lack of instruction in tunisian crochet on this one. I’m going to have to get a tutorial together on this. But in the meantime, I recommend Stitch Diva Studio’s well explained directions on the basics of tunisian crochet.

Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn. I used Lily Sugar n’ Cream because I love its durable, cotton look. Colors: denim for Facebook, orange for RSS, turquoise for Twitter, and hot pink for Pinterest. White for border.
  • Size 10 tunisian hook
  • H crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

Instructions

With main color, ch 12, and draw a loop through each ch onto the tunisian hook (12 loops on hook)

Work tunisian simple stitch (tss) for 9 rows (you should have 9 rows of “squares”). Bind off.

Border: Join white to any corner, and make 2 sc in corner. Sc evenly around the coaster, making 2 sc in each corner. Join with sl st, finish off and weave in ends.

With single strand of white yarn, embroider words onto front of coaster:

  • Facebook: like
  • RSS: feed
  • Twitter: tweet
  • Pinterest: pin it
